그러게, 코믹 산스건 무슨 서체건 서체에서 폰트 디자이너조차 기대치못했던 잠재력을 끌어내는 것도 타이포그래퍼의 역할일텐데요.

헬베티카와 Typorgasm 관련해서 에드 벤갓(Ed Bengiat)의 최근 인터뷰가 생각나네요.

I refer to Helvetica as a real "bitchy face". It's just waiting for you to give it a part to act out. [...] It(Helvetica) won't talk, it won't do anything except sit and say, "O.K. Do your thing with me! Put me on a garbage truck and I'll be happy."

헬베티카는 거시는 분에겐 잃으면 손실이 크지만, 내기에 응하는 사람들에겐 접근이 쉬워서(에드 벤갓이 말한 의미에서 누구나 쉽게 쟁취한), 승부욕을 자극하기엔 패가 약할 듯 싶습니다. :-)
